Jackie Morris has been writing and illustrating books for over 32 years. She has won the Tir na Nog twice ( for Cities in the Sea with Sian Lewis and The Seal Children), The Greenaway for The Lost Words, co-authoured with Robert Macfarlane, and also the Hay Medal for illustration, for the same title. She has in excess of 60 titles to her name and is published in over 30 languages.
Works include The Seal Children, The Lost Words, Lord of the Forest, The Unwinding, Tell Me a Dragon, The White Fox, The Snow Leopard.
Some of her titles have been beautifully adapted into Welsh by Mererid Hopwood.
She began her working life as an illustrator, but moved into writing aged 32, and has written many texts for other illustrators, including collaborations with Catherine Hyde ( Little Evie in the Wild Wood), Ehsan Abdoullahi The Secret of the Tattered Shoes), The Mrs Noah Trilogy with James Mayhew and The Panda’s Child and Summer Puppy with Catharine Fisher.
