Matt Nõmme is a performance poet from Cardiff and has had his words published in Radar Magazine, Nation Cymru, Bylines Cymru and has been featured on BBC Sesh.
With a barrage of short, snappy punk poems Matt takes you on a rollercoaster of poetry that will make you laugh at observations of everyday life, to poignant moments of reflection.
He wrote his first poem in A&E on the 12th of September 2019, he thought of a short joke and started fleshing it out into a poem over the next 8 hours waiting for a doctor. That poem would become “My Brother Sam”, a poem so darkly funny, but heartbreaking that he still continues to perform it at every gig to this day.
In his debut poetry book ‘Happy Daze’ Matt explores the decay of modern-day working-class Wales, packed with poems and photography, it places you straight in the dark comedic world of a Wales failing for working class people.
