Mari is a poet and a member of a team of poets who compete on Radio Cymru as part of a programme called Talwrn y Beirdd. She has published two poetry books in Welsh. In 2024 Mari published a pamphlet of Welsh poetry dealing with dementia called ‘Rhaff’. In 2024 she won Welsh Book of the Year for her first novel for adults, ‘Sut I Ddofi Corryn’ (How to tame a spider). She works as a translator and a children’s books editor for Atebol.
