I’m Irram from Cardiff. I’ve been writing since I was a teenager, but it is only now 30 years later that I have started to make my way as a published writer. I learned Welsh as an adult and currently have two columns with the online Welsh learner’s magazine Lingo360 (a health column as I work for the NHS and a history column as I love old things!). I am a regular story contributor to Cip, the Urdd magazine for children. I am currently working on articles for English-language publications. I have just self-published two bilingual books – a collection of poetry “Welsh, Asian and Proud” and a collection of ghost short stories “It Comes To Us All”, currently stocked in independent book shops in South Wales and to be more widely stocked by the Books Council of Wales. Next year I’m bringing out a collection of children’s short stories whilst working on my first novels – one for children and one for adults! I am equally excited and daunted! I just need to win the lottery now so that I can give up my job to write full time!
