Lorna is a freelance writer of fiction and non-fiction with a particular interest in stories about women, mental health, being working class and anything that intersects with these.
Lorna received a Distinction for her MA in Creative Writing from Teesside University and has recently been highly commended at the Crossing the Tees Short Story Competition 2023 for her stream-of-consciousness story ‘Run’. Her article ‘Fisherwoman or fishwife? Women’s roles in the Cleddau Estuary’, inspired by her new home, has just been published on Art UK.
An experienced creative writing teacher, she also has a passion for helping others access books, reading, writing and their creative selves.
She resides in West Wales where the peace, long walks and cold water swims are helping her write her first novel.
