Theo Malings (she/her/hi) is a dyslexic Anglo-Welsh writer and unpaid carer living in a picturesque North Walian village just that really deserves its own crime-solving pensioner. Her novel, THE RED TWILIGHT, a YA SFF fantasy thriller that reads the way games like Elden Ring feel to play, has won the Faber Action! Prize and will be published by them.
She is a member of Literature Wales’ 2023 (Re)Writing Wales Emerging Writer cohort, writing creative non-fiction about Welsh identity, was shortlisted for the 2023 Creative Future Writers Award, shortlisted for the 2023 First Novel Prize with an adult Upmarket novel, and longlisted for Penguin Random Houses’ #WriteNow program for people underrepresented in publishing.
In her spare time, she sews inadvisably large cross-stitch projects full of cat hair. She has been trained in Cyber.
She is represented by Emma Shercliff at Laxfield Literary Associates.
