I was born and raised in Carmarthenshire- attending one of the earliest bilingual comprehensives – Bro Myrddin. My first volume Sound Archive (Seren, 2011) was shortlisted for the Forward Felix Dennis prize and won the Strong first volume prize. In 2017 I was a Government of Wales-Literature Wales poet in residence at Passa Porta, Brussels. That same year my second volume Cabaret was published by New Dublin Press.
Republic, my volume of prose poetry, was published by seren in 2023 and one of its poems made the Forward single prize longlist for 2023
. I’ve lectured at UCD (Dublin Ireland) since 2003- on poetry and poetics and publish widely on modern and contemporary poetry. I’m a Fulbright alumnus- and have settled in Kells Co Meath with my husband and daughter.
