John Washbourne is from the Welsh Borders, the home of such writers as Arthur Machen and has been interested in the fantasy and horror genres since reading such books in childhood.
John has a background in video distribution in the UK which increased his genre knowledge, and led to an interest in book collection, specialising in fantasy and horror. He has extensively studied world wide mythology and British folklore, on which much of his work is grounded.
John has co-written many of our feature film projects and the novelisations with Dewi Griffiths at Garland Stone Productions.
These include, Blood Eagle, Away Game, Witch Sight, and Black Valley which was set to be a major film project.
Currently John is working on the sequel to Witch Sight with Dewi Griffiths, a book set in modern day Dublin.
All of the books produced by Garland Stone are contemporary set novels, steeped in mythology. They are set in Wales, Ireland and Scandinavia.
John is also a highly regarded international fencer, and is an expert in armed and unarmed combat.
He is a founder member of the Academy of Historical Fencing.
