Jane M Mullins is a dementia nurse consultant with over 30 years experience of caring with people living with dementia and their families. Her book, Finding the Light in Dementia is the ultimate self help book for families, providing vital information about how dementia may affect the person and provides advice and approaches of how to help care with confidence and stay connected. Her passion lies in using multisensory ways to help people communicate when living with a condition that affects speech and language, this is exemplified by her PhD thesis: A Suitcase of Memories, a Sensory Ethnography of Tourism amd Dementia with Older Adults.
Jane has worked closely with the George Ewart Centre for Storytelling at the University of South Wales, bringing creative writing and storytelling into dementia care and is currently writing her time travelling fantasy novel that is a metaphor for dementia.
