Born in Romania, Serban has lived in Bucharest and London before settling in Cardiff (because where else would one find a Roald Dahl Plass?). Serban has worked as a journalist, teaching assistant, tutor, voice actor and writer, and has won the Romanian Writers’ Union Prize for Writers under 35 in 2009 for his second novel. Since turning to writing in English, he has published “Love This Theory When She Finds You” – a short story collection, and “Little Cold and The Melting Snowflake – a picture book for young readers in collaboration with illustrator Nadia Barbu. He is currently seeking representation towards publication for his first two novels in English.
When he is not writing or teaching, Serban might be tending to his garden, his collection of Donald Duck comics, his cat or helping on his partner’s animation film projects.
