Originally from Penparcau, Aberystwyth, Gareth has lived in Cardiff for many years. A very experienced script writer, storyliner and script consultant, he eventually ventured into fiction writing too. After finding his literary home with Carreg Gwalch, his first YA novel, Gethin Nyth Brân was shortlisted for the Tir na n-Og Prize, 2018. The novel has since been published in English under the title Running Out of Time, translated by the novelist Jane Burnard. He is currently working on a YA historical trilogy set in Britonia, a little-known early medieval Brythonic settlement in northern Spain. The first two parts, Y Pibgorn Hud and Y Ferch o Aur have been published, together with an English translation of the first, The Magic Hornpipe, also by Jane Burnard. The final part of the trilogy will be published in 2024.
