Dominika Rau is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer based in Wales, originally from Poland. Her practice includes spoken word, playwriting, and storytelling, but also dance, acting, mime, and theatrical practices. She is a graduate of Performance Art and Drama & Theatre Studies at Aberystwyth University in 2016.
Dominika Rau is a founder of Body Art Therapies – an original project that uses body acceptance and empowerment techniques mixed with various art and creative writing forms in order to support vulnerable clients but also children and young people.
On 22.02.2022 Dominika Rau published her first book I am some BODY in partnership with the Congolese Development Project, Literature Wales, and Royal College of Psychiatrists, which included poetry and creative writing from 20 Wales-based minority ethnic writers in 10 languages, including English, Arabic, Latvian, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Napolitan or Surinamese.
Dominika Rau is a frequent performer at the underground spoken word nights in Wales, performing recent poetry inspired by human connections and spiritual experiences. Her current work is based on empowering others to write while facilitating creative writing workshops. Her main interest is the analysis of daily life experiences and multi-layered connections within the world we live in.
