Biography

Rhiannon Oliver is an actress, poet, workshop facilitator and playgroup leader based in Penarth.

Her children’s poems feature in anthologies including And I Hear Dragons (Firefly Press), Cosy Poems (Macmillan Children’s Books) and Rising Into Sunlight (Oxford University Press). She is also published in multiple magazines and websites including The Caterpillar, Tyger Tyger, The Toy, The Dirigible Balloon, Northern Gravy, Paperbound, Little Thoughts Press, Parakeet, and Launchpad (Australia). She has also written and created bilingual poem performance videos for The Big Welsh Rhyme Time 2023 (Book Trust Cymru) and her poetry has appeared on TV (Only Boys Aloud Christmas Concert, S4C).

She was part of Literature Wales’ Representing Wales 2023 scheme.

Rhiannon trained as an actress at RADA and has worked in theatres such as The National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and National Theatre of Wales and on TV, radio and film.

She grew up in Swansea and now lives in Penarth with her husband and daughter. They are all learning Welsh. Rhiannon is learning at a high level and is increasingly using Welsh in her written work and workshops.
