Thomas Stewart (he/him) is a writer and poet. He was born in Cardiff but currently lives in Edinburgh where he works as an English language teacher. In 2021 he was awarded a New Writers Award from Scottish Book Trust. empire of dirt, his poetry pamphlet, a Poetry Book Society selection, was published by Red Squirrel Press in 2019. He was highly commended in the Verve 2020 Poetry Competition. He was a writer in residence at Arteles, Finland.
His work has been featured at Poetry Wales, Butcher’s Dog, fourteen poems, The Amsterdam Quarterly, And Other Poems, The Glasgow Review of Books, The Stockholm Review of Literature, among others. His poems have been published in anthologies ‘Working in Crisis’ (Polari Press, 2021), We’ve Done Nothing Wrong, We’ve Nothing To Hide (Verve Poetry Press, 2020) and Best Scottish Poems of 2019 (selected by Scottish Book Trust).
He has completed a novel and debut collection of poems which he is currently seeking representation for.
