Mary Robinson writes poetry and non-fiction prose in English. Her work is strongly influenced by Wales and the Welsh language. Her themes include the environment, the sea, history, art and Pen Llyn. Her latest collection is Cynefin (Kailpot Press 2024). Her previous work includes Trace (Oversteps Books 2020), Alphabet Poems (Mariscat Press 2019), and The Art of Gardening (Flambard Press 2010). She collaborated with Horatio Lawson on Out of Time, an exhibition of poems and pictures at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick in 2015. She has won the Mirehouse and Second Light poetry prizes and was highly commended in the RS Thomas poetry competition 2022. She grew up on an off-grid small holding in Warwickshire, lectured in English Literature in Cumbria. She now lives near Pwllheli where she concentrates on her writing.
