Christopher Owen’s is Welsh on his father’s side. He has family in North and South Wales, and he comes from a strong Welsh seafaring, literary and musical background.
My stories have been published in a number of literary journals and anthologies. AMERICA AWAITS US, MY LOVELY and Other Stories published (Troubador) in the Spring of 2021; I’ve been short-listed for the Bridport story Prize 2019; won 2nd prize for the Wells Festival of Literature prize 2019, and have been long-listed for the Royal Society of Literature V. S. Pritchett Short Story Prize 2018 and for the London Short Story Prize 2018.
Plays produced include: 2017: Drownings at Octagon Bolton (Best of Bolton). 2016: Still Waters performed by Mind the Gap Theatre Company at Manhattan Theatre, New York; 2015: Winston Brown performed in association with Paines Plough at the Lowry Manchester UK; In 2013 ‘Women’s Voices’ by American writer Susan K Monson and me was performed in Manchester as part of North West Festival. Other work includes: A Parson’s Tale (UK tour), A Family Affair, (UK / Australia / Ireland), A Wilde Affair (UK tour).
