From a very young age, Rebecca knew that she wanted to be a novelist. On her journey to achieving this aim, she gained a degree in Creative Writing from Bangor University, worked as a teacher, Welsh development officer, humanist celebrant and most recently, a translator. She lives in Prestatyn, with her husband and children.
Her first novel, Mudferwi, was published in 2019, and her debut English novel, Eat.Sleep.Rage.Repeat, was published in 2020. #Helynt, her first novel for young adults, won the Tir na n-Og 2021 prize, and the Children and Young People’s Book of the Year 2021, and is now studied on the WJEC GCSE Welsh literature curriculum. Rebecca is now the author of ten contemporary novels for both adults and young adults, and has adapted some of her Welsh fiction for the English market. As well as novels, Rebecca also writes book reviews, conducts non-religious ceremonies, and facilitates creative workshops. She has won several of the National Eisteddfod’s writing competitions, including the Emyr Feddyg Scholarship 2017, for her shorter fiction. She is the tutor delivering the Conwy Young Writers’ Squad 2024, on behalf of Literature Wales.
