Mari Ellis Dunning is a poet, writer of fiction and Hay Writer at Work. In 2019, her debut poetry collection, Salacia, was shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year. Her second collection, The Wrong Side of the Looking Glass, written in collaboration with Natalie Holborow, is published with Black Rabbit Press. Mari has been both first place winner and highly commended in the Terry Hetherington Young Writers’ Award, has been the winner of Seren’s annual Christmas Poetry Competition, has been longlisted for the BBC Short Story Award, and has work published in several journals and anthologies. She is currently studying for her PhD in Creative Writing, exploring witchcraft and reproduction through fiction, and lives on the coast near Aberystwyth with her husband, their son and their dog.
