Michelle Briscombe was born in Cardiff and now lives overlooking the sea in Barry, South Wales.
Silent Mountain, The Adventures of Jack Jupiter, a fantasy novel, published by Candy Jar, Cardiff, was her first children’s book and was nominated for a Tir Na Nog Award in 2014. The book was used by the Welsh Books Council for its Bookslam Competition. A school in Pembrokeshire won the competition with an interpretation of Michelle’s book.
Released in April 2016, The House on March Lane is her second children’s novel.
Michelle teaches creative writing, part time, in a primary school and brings her love of stories to the children in key stage 2.
Michelle is a keen writer of adult short stories and has been shortlisted for, and won, several national competitions.
In 2015 Michelle was a recipient of a Literature Wales Writers Bursary.
Her third children’s book The Ghosts of Craig Glas Castle, was published in March 2023.
