I was an English teacher for over twenty-five years and left the profession in order to focus on my own writing and to set up my own company. Writers’ Cwtch delivers bespoke Writing for Well-being workshops. I have a PhD in writing and researched the positive impact YA contemporary realism can have on well-being and mental heath.
My first YA novel, Asterix Clementine, was shortlisted for the Times / Chicken House Children’s’ Fiction Competition and I am currently working on my next YA novel, The Sunshiners. I was a recipient of a Literature Wales Bursary and I am part of the Hay Writers at Work collective. Since setting up Writers’ Cwtch, I have had the privilege of working with young people and adults throughout Wales. I have delivered workshops in partnership with Foster Wales, The Prince’s Trust, The Traumatic Brain Injury Service at Morriston Hospital, Shine Cymru, Platfform, as well as working on a regular basis in schools, PRUs, and colleges in Wales.
