Are you considering agent representation? Do you know how to find and agent? Or build a submission package? Join Literature Wales and two agents for an evening of discussion and information sharing. During the session, each speaker will provide details of what makes a submission stand out and provide hints and tips on how to make your work in progress shine.
The session will comprise of a 1-hour discussion, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.
The speakers
Elinor Davies is an associate agent at Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency where she represents authors who write commercial and upmarket adult fiction. She began her agenting career with the company in 2021 following a degree in Publishing Media at Oxford Brookes University. She has also undertaken various editing and mentoring roles with author-focussed organisations including Asian Women Writers, Jericho Writers and Faber Academy.
Anwen Hooson started her career in the press departments at Penguin and Waterstones, before co-founding Riot Communications, which fast became one of the most respected and influential PR agencies in the publishing industry. In 2018, Anwen launched Bird Literary Agency, with a mission to give flight to books that would inspire and provoke. Her authors include Caryl Lewis, Liz Hyder, Kirsty Capes, Huw Aaron, Jodie Lancet-Grant and Moira Buffini. Anwen was a judge at the British Book Awards 2018-2022, and was nominated for Literary Agent of the Year at the British Book Awards 2023.
