Artists and Newport Mind staff co-developed a 7–week programme of activity to be delivered at Secondary schools exploring mental health issues for young people and creative ways of expressing their thoughts.

Llanwern High School Resilience Project delivered by poet, Uschi Turoczy and illustrator, Amy Moody alongside Toby Groves, Newport Mind produced a booklet of creative writing with young people identifying as LGBTQ+.
Spoken Word poet, Duke Al Durham led an 8 month residency to encourage pupils at Bassaleg High School, Newport to talk about their mental health and use creative writing, specifically poetry, alongside another art form as a way of creatively expressing themselves. The Residency delivered 3 specific projects, alongside the opportunities of one-to-ones with Duke for young people wishing to develop their creative reflections and expressions further.

The first project consisted of 7 face-to-face workshops with Duke and multi-disciplined artist Bill Taylor Beales alongside Leah Williams and Wahida Khartoum, Newport Mind. The project produced a film and reflective feedback from participating young people to be shared only amongst the group.
- Masking our Fears Away
The second project consisted of 7 face-to-face workshops with Duke and illustrator Amy Moody alongside Leah Williams, Newport Mind. The project produced a printed booklet of poetry, film and a series of social media clips by videographer Ryan Evans.
- Life is Life
The third project consisted of 7 face-to-face workshops with Duke and musician Maddie Jones alongside Leah Williams, Newport Mind. The project created 5 songs written and performed by the young people.
One-to-Ones
Over the course of the project, Duke held 24 one-to-one sessions with young people who had requested the opportunity for continuity of connection and a chance to further explore creative expression.
