PenRhydd: New writers’ podcast examines craft, motivation and environment
“An opportunity to go right to the heart of the [writing] process in its raw form, while writers are actively reflecting, interpreting and trying to make sense of what they’re trying to say.”
Iestyn Tyne
A brand new podcast in which some of contemporary Wales’ most exciting writers read and discuss their work in progress will be broadcast weekly this autumn.
PenRhydd is the brainchild of writers Grug Muse and Iestyn Tyne, and its aim is to explore the forces that drive writers to explore their physical, community and global environment.
With the sponsorship of Literature Wales, seven daily conversations were recorded with leading authors and some at the beginning of their careers at the Llŷn and Eifionydd National Eisteddfod’s Literary Tent in August. The talks will be broadcast weekly over the autumn as follows:
Episode 1: Steffan Gwynn and Marged Tudur – Tuesday 17 October
Episode 2: Leo Drayton and Marged Elen – Tuesday 24 October
Episode 3: Dylan Huw and Talulah Thomas – Tuesday 31 October
Episode 4: Alun Parrington – Tuesday 7 November
Episode 5: Llŷr Titus and Peredur Glyn – Tuesday 14 November
Episode 6: Eluned Gramich and Sara Borda Green – Tuesday 21 November
Episode 7: Buddug Roberts and Mared Llywelyn – Tuesday 28 November
