Llandeilo Literature Festival
The Llandeilo Literature Festival is an award-winning celebration of Welsh writing, culture, and creativity, offering an inclusive and inspiring space for all.
This year’s festival brings together a diverse and exciting line-up of authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers, artists, politicians, and musicians, with events in both Welsh and English. Audiences can enjoy thought-provoking talks, interactive creative workshops, and a dedicated children’s festival, designed to ignite young imaginations through the magic of storytelling and creative workshops including model making and animation with Aardman Animation.
New for 2025, the festival is introducing Music Fest @ the Lit Fest, a two-day celebration of Welsh music, adding a vibrant new element to the event. On Saturday, April 26th, some of Wales’s most acclaimed folk musicians will take to the stage, filling Llandeilo with live music and energy.
Inclusivity is at the heart of the festival. More than half of the sessions are held in Welsh, with translation facilities available for adult events to ensure accessibility for all. This year, there will be a special focus on representation and diversity, amplifying voices from a range of backgrounds. As part of this commitment, the festival is partnering with Pride Llandeilo to present Pride@LitFest, a dedicated program of LGBTQ+ talks and events celebrating the power of inclusive storytelling.
Since its launch in 2016, the festival has grown from a small book fair into one of South Wales’s premier literary events, drawing visitors from Llandeilo and beyond. In 2024, it was named Best Event in Carmarthenshire by the Carmarthenshire Tourism Association.
With author panels, poetry readings, live performances, music, and creative workshops, the Llandeilo Literature Festival is a true celebration of Welsh culture, language, and the arts, offering something for everyone, from lifelong book lovers to families discovering the joy of storytelling.
