A haunting evening of dark storytelling and conversation celebrating publication of ‘Let a Sleeping Witch Lie’ by Elizabeth Walter.

Between 1965 and 1975, Elizabeth Walter published five collections of supernatural stories. But despite the Sunday Times writing in 1975 that ‘There is no better writer in this field’, her work is relatively unknown to modern readers. Edited by Nick Freeman, Let a Sleeping Witch Lie looks to rectify this, bringing together her nine Welsh stories for the first time.

On the eve of Halloween, join Seren Books at Kings Road Yard in Cardiff for an evening of dark storytelling and conversation. As well as readings from Elizabeth Walter’s haunting tales, editor Nick Freeman will talk about Walter’s work and the wider Welsh Gothic tradition. There’s no better way to rediscover Elizabeth Walter’s chillingly remarkable talent.
